State of the Game - August 2015

Post by dayrinni » Wed Aug 12, 2015 3:22 pm

Hello ALL,

This is the mid year state of game for our MUD, A Tempest Season.

Over the past 7 months we have made some great progress to achieving our goals in opening ATS.

To recap:
1. Implemented an innovative new attribute system that really allows for true customization, depth and long term progression.
2. Added in an automatic vital system, to allow for streamlining of vitals and attributes to affect them(each attribute now can give a static amount of vital instead of only being calculated at level up).
3. For the most part, we have enough areas up to level 100!
4. A new saving and loading system for the players – which will allow us to have more complex data easily saved and loaded for players.
5. Tweaked and balanced various classes, including Clerics and Rogues to bring them in line with our game vision.
6. Made substantial progress on the new Merchant District and other new areas around Tralisia.

We're still chugging along and making good progress on getting to where we need to be in order to open. Right now, we will be finishing up the Clerical changes, a few rogue changes, and then start our focus on the three new classes. The Agent class will be completed first and the design and implementation is planned to start in September. Our goal is to have 1 new class per month, for three months. There will be smaller side projects in between these classes, like conversion to the newly automated help file system, help file updates, website updates, and so on.

We are aiming to still open in December or January, but it depends on how much progress we make. Just know that Actinate and myself work daily on the game and are trying our best. We are so happy and thankful that all you players have supported us this long. We do not take it for granted.

Thank you for taking the time in reading this and your continued participation in testing this great game of ours!

Thanks,
Dayrinni
